Ian Woodhouse-Smith, Lettings Manager

The TV presenter and property expert has teamed up with Propertymark to create a new series of his Move iQ podcast with advice for buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants. In each episode, Phil will talk with a property professional to provide guidance on some of the most common issues faced by home movers.

Phil rose to fame over 20 years ago on the Channel 4 property show Location, Location, Location with Kirsty Allsopp.

New episodes every week

The first episode aired on Boxing Day and will feature NAEA Propertymark President Liana Loporto-Browne. The episode explores ways to recognise a qualified and experienced agent, in addition to what to do if problems occur with your move.

A total of nine episodes will be published every Sunday and will talk all things property – the podcast itself aims to help people ‘move home the right way’. Other guests include Propertymark’s CEO, Nathan Emerson, and ARLA Propertymark President Maxine Fothergill.

Property podcast topics

Phil and the experts will talk about being a savvy seller, reducing the likelihood of a sale falling through and how to speed up the conveyancing process. Other topics for homebuyers and sellers include a discussion the best times to put your property on the market.

For landlords and tenants, some episodes will explore practical implications for energy efficiency regulations, plus advice on avoiding rental pitfalls and choices tenants must make at the end of a fixed-term tenancy.

Phil said:

“In this podcast series I was particularly keen to address head on why agents have such a poor reputation over here, what is being done in the industry to help change this and what that means for the consumer.

“I really hope everyone can take a lot from this series and now knows where to look for an agent who is adhering to regulation that will ultimately protect them, the consumer.”

The series is available on all podcast apps, as well as featuring on Move iQ’s YouTube channel.
