The Barn is a characterful bungalow with a lovely ‘cottage’ feel to it, set in a prime position in the heart of Bishops Sutton. In 2008 the bungalow had a side extension built, thereby creating additional living accommodation. The property has been well-maintained and improved over the years. There is parking and a pretty garden with a lawn and shrub borders with a gate opening to School Lane.
The property is approached via the covered driveway. There is a porch and front door, which opens to a hallway, where there is an airing cupboard and a wall-mounted boiler. Doors from the hallway open to the bathroom, which has a white suite, and to the kitchen, which has an attractive range of built-in storage units and worktops.
A further door opens to the spacious living room, which has an attractive bow window to the front. A door leads through to the family room, which has a wood-burning stove. This room could be used as a second bedroom and it has a doorway to the garden. A further door opens to the main bedroom.
Outside, there is a small garden to the front, with a storage shed. A gate leads through to the pretty rear garden, which is mainly laid to lawn, with a selection of flower and shrub borders.
The village of Bishops Sutton is situated just off the A31 and lies a mile and a half to the east of Alresford. It is about 10 miles from both Winchester and Alton. There is good access to London and the motorway network via the A34 and M3. Trains from Alton and Winchester run direct to London Waterloo. The village is also serviced by a regular bus route which travels from Guildford to Winchester every 30 minutes and also a community bus which runs twice a week. There is a strong sense of community in the village, which is fostered by the parish church, and events in the village hall. Good primary schools are available in Ropley and Alresford and secondary education is catered for at Perins School in Alresford. Bishops Sutton is situated on the edge of the South Downs National Park and is surrounded by beautiful countryside for rambling, cycling and riding.
